SLHAL is a Non governmental, organization base in Leiden, Netherlands. We are a
group of people originally from Sierra Leone , We came to the Netherlands trying
to escape the atrocities of the 11 years civil war.We started meeting informally
to help each other deal with the traummas of the past and adjust to the new life
in netherlands. We also wanted to reach out to the people we left behind and
contribute to the(re)development of our mother land. Therefore we founded the
    Seirra Leone Humanitarian Association.

In Sierra Leone, thousands of the child population have no access to education
and health facilities. It is because of the brutal civil war that distroyed many of the
schools and health infrastructure. In addition, most of these childeren lost thier
parents during the war and some lost their limbs, and were left with no proper
    care.
